Maurice Winslow III Delivers Exciting KO In Homecoming

Maurice Winslow III Excites Home Town Fans With An Exciting KO Performance At The J.S. Dorton Arena In Raleigh, North Carolina

Raleigh, North Carolina (February 15) – Maurice Winslow III wanted to put on a show and give his family, friends, and fans plenty to cheer about in his homecoming fight. Wow, did he deliver with an exciting, show-stealing KO, which sent the hometown crowd at the J.S. Dorton in Raleigh, North Carolina into a brief hysteria.

Winslow 2-0 (2 KO’s) overcame a shaky first-round start against veteran David Ricardo Perez 1-16-1. Perez forced the action early making the six-foot-one inch. eighteen year old fight on the inside. Perez used guts and smarts to take away Winslow’s considerable height advantage. Perez landed a couple of nice flush shots on Winslow, and it caught Winslow’s attention.

Winslow opened the second round more relaxed and used his height and physical strength advantage to force Perez to work from the outside. Winslow used a long, hard jab to set up a right hand that continually landed and slowly beat the fight out of the veteran Perez. For every punch Perez landed, Winslow answered with three or four hard shots to the head and body. Late in the second round, Winslow landed a body assault and a crushing hook which sent Perez back to his corner zapped of energy and breathing heavily.

Winslow didn’t waste anytime starting round three. Winslow came out on the attack and used multiple jabs to force Perez into a corner. Perez was game and tried to fight his way out of the corner. After a big exchange where Perez threw multiple wide, wild shots, Winslow tucked in and landed a beautiful short left hand flush to the face of Perez. Perez dropped hard to the canvas, and Winslow stepped over him to walk to the neutral corner. Perez was able to get to his feet, but as he stood in the corner fumbling with his mouthpiece, the referee asked if he wanted more, and Perez said, “NO!” Winslow was declared the winner by third round stoppage, and the fans at J.S. Dorton arena went absolutely crazy cheering for the hometown crowd.

Afterwards, a very modest and humble Winslow said, “he hoped the fans were happy and entertained with his performance.” Based on the reaction of the fans in the crowd, Raleigh and the North Carolina boxing fans can’t wait for his next fight.
