ROY JONES JR. PROMOTIONS, & MONTOYA BOXING PRESENT “STARS OVER TEXAS” AT THE BOMB FACTORY DALLAS ON FEBRUARY 9TH

Featherweight Warriors Ray Ximenez will Headline on beIN Sports in his hometown against Eugene Lagos

Dallas, TX (February 6th) – Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions led by CEO/ Co-Founder Keith Veltre and boxing legend Roy Jones Jr will return to the Lonestar state on Friday, February 9thwith a sensational fight card on beIN Sports Network at the Bomb Factory in Dallas, Texas.

Featured bout of the night will showcase the hometown hero and fan favorite, Ray Ximenez 16-1 (4KO) from Dallas Texas in an 8-round featherweight bout against Eugene Lagos 12-4 (7KO) from Valencia City Philippines. Ximenez was originally scheduled to face once-beaten John Vincent Moralde 19-1 (12KO), also from the Philippines but Moralde was forced to pull out due to an injury. Lagos, who was already in training camp in Los Angeles CA jumped at the opportunity in facing Ximenez.

Ximenez will be making his third straight appearance at the Bomb Factory dating back to 2016. Having only fought one-time in 2017, Ximenex knows that a victory on beIN Sports will solidify him as a prospect to watch in the featherweight division. This former Texas Champion is eager to make his beIN Sports Network debut in front of his hometown and state.

Lagos who will be making his United States debut see’s this as a golden opportunity. Lagos has faced much stiffer competition in his young career having faced the likes of former world title challenger Cesar Juarez 20-6 and Tassana Sanpattan 45-0 from Thailand. This Filipino featherweight is riding a wave of confidence knowing that he has been in there with some of the best in the world and will look towards his experience and aggression to carry him to victory.

“I love fighting in my home because there is so much energy from my fans going on in the building when I fight here than any other places.”Ray Ximenez stated “My opponent is a decent guy but I have more to bring to then he does. I fell that I am faster stronger and smarter than he is. My training is going well because my Dad is like the mad scientist in the lab and I am just the monster that he is creating. He knows what I need to work on to improve myself for anyone that steps into the ring with me and come February 9th, I do not see it going the distance.”

Opening TV bout will also be in the featherweight division as newly signed Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions, Edward Vazquez 4-0 (0KO) from Fort Worth TX takes on fellow undefeated Brandon Arvie 2-0 (2KO) from Mamou, LA in an oddly scheduled 5-round bout. I’m not sure what is more unique, a scheduled 5-round bout or two undefeated fighters facing each other this early in their young career. One thing we can expect that won’t be a surprise is fireworks from the opening bell. Vazquez who has a relentless pressure style will take on the boxer-puncher Arvie in what could be the “Fight of the Night” in a very entertaining scrap.

“To be able to land the opportunity to debut my hard work and dedication for the first time under RJJ promotions in front of my hometown crowd is truly a dream come true and a huge blessing to my life. I’m very thankful to Keith Veltre, Roy Jones and my manager Casey Guiterrez for blessing me with the opportunity to be successful.” stated Edward Vazquez “I’ve been in the gym everyday training and giving it my everything. I want to show RJJ they invested in a young man who is a long-term thinker, talented, and never scared of hard work. Not only is this my RJJ debut, but it is my TV debut too which is motivating for me. I get to perform here in DFW in front of my hometown crowd, and I will be able to gain the respect of fans around the country. To me, there’s nothing more satisfying than to be able to show people nationwide that just a young guy like me can make it to national television through hard work and determination. Once again all thanks to my manager Casey and everyone involved with RJJ promotions.”
