Austin Bryant To Face Hafiz Montgomery Sept 10

Wilson, NC (September 7) – Undefeated rising boxing superstar Austin “Babyface Assassin” Bryant of Wilson, NC will face Hafiz Montgomery Saturday, September 10 in Wilson, NC at the Wilson Recreation Center.

Hafiz Montgomery  2-1 (1 KO) is from Tom’s River, New Jersey, and is looking to rebound from an April TKO loss to Darnell Pierce.  Montgomery made his professional debut June 2015 with a UD win over veteran Brian Donahue.  Montgomery followed up his pro debut with a devastating 1st round KO of Devon Mosley in November 2015 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA.

Austin Bryant 2-0 (2 KO’s) will be fighting in his third professional fight, and Bryant will be looking to extend his KO streak to three consecutive fights. Bryant’s last fight on July 23 at the Durham Convention center was a first round stoppage of the previously unbeaten 8-0 (8 KO’s) Zed Mitchell.

Austin Bryant, who has been described as humble, heavy handed, competitive, the truth, and more importantly hard working, had an impressive amateur career fighting in thirty one amateur fights. Bryant was saluted in November 2013 by NC USA Boxing Association, was 2013 NC Jr Olympic Champ, was 2013 Georgia Paul Murphy National Title Belt Champ, 2014 NC/VA Golden Gloves Tournament runner-up, 2014 Missouri Ringside World Championship participant, and participated in Philadelphia’s “Pathway to the Olympics.”

Bryant, who is a first class athlete, played several sports, but his strong desire for one on one competition and contact led him to start boxing at the early age of 10. After being hit by a pitch in his first at bat in baseball, Austin had a strong want to retaliate. The BabyFace Assassin’s mom, Tracey, had enough, and led him to the gym, where he has been training ever since to become boxing’s next big star.

Bryant is managed by his Step-Dad, Tony Meeks, and coached/trained by Leroy Gray of “Gray’s Hardcore Boxing Gym” in Wilson, NC. Austin Bryant made his pro debut on May 13, 2016 stopping Sam Boylan in sensational fashion.

Team Bryant plans to stay busy to help the 19 year old BabyFace Assassin mature, and reach his goal of becoming the greatest world champion.

The Wilson Recreation Center is located at 500 Sunset Road in Wilson, NC.

Tickets for the September 10 show can be purchased by calling Leroy Gray at 252 289-2781 or Promoter Calvin Barnes at 252 315-8480. General Admission tickets start at $30.
