Austin Bryant Adds New Trainer And Conditioning Coach To Team Bryant

Wilson, NC (October 11) – Undefeated, rising boxing superstar Austin Bryant looks to improve by adding veteran trainer Steve Ashford and proven strength and conditioning coach Carlos Martin.

Ashford, a former sparring partner for world champion Zab Judah, has been in the sport of boxing for 15 years.  He has spent the last six years training his son Shahim Ashford and professional Jamar Freeman.  Shahim is the #2 ranked amateur in his division.

Ashford, who runs a program that takes kids off the street, can barely contain his excitement to work with Bryant.  “I have watched Austin for a long time, and have faced him in the opposite corner.  He has some good skills, but I quickly found out he is a good listener!”

Martin is a former amateur boxer, who is also a third degree black belt.  Martin is a proud father of three, and he runs Elite Athletics gym in Goldsboro, NC.  He has provided strength and conditioning training for athletes in multiple sports at multiple levels of competition.

Martin welcomes the challenge to helping Austin Bryant reach his top physical peak.  “I told Austin right away.  Anybody can make you tired or make you sweat, but I’m going to challenge him to properly take care of his body and make him a much better athlete.”

Austin Bryant 2-0 (2 KO’s), who has been described as humble, heavy handed, competitive, the truth, and more importantly hard working, had an impressive amateur career fighting in thirty one amateur fights. Bryant was saluted in November 2013 by NC USA Boxing Association, was 2013 NC Jr Olympic Champ, was 2013 Georgia Paul Murphy National Title Belt Champ, 2014 NC/VA Golden Gloves Tournament runner-up, 2014 Missouri Ringside World Championship participant, and participated in Philadelphia’s “Pathway to the Olympics.”

Bryant, who is a first class athlete, played several sports, but his strong desire for one on one competition and contact led him to start boxing at the early age of 10. After being hit by a pitch in his first at bat in baseball, Austin had a strong want to retaliate. The BabyFace Assassin’s mom, Tracey, had enough, and led him to the gym, where he has been training ever since to become boxing’s next big star.

Bryant is managed by his Step-Dad, Tony Meeks, and made his pro debut on May 13, 2016 stopping Sam Boylan in sensational fashion.

Coming off of an illness, Team Bryant plans to slowly get back into fighting shape then get 19 year old BabyFace Assassin back on course to reach his goal of becoming the greatest world champion.
